FAQ

WHAT IS OUTPATIENT THERAPY IN THE HOME?

Therapy is provided in the your home instead of at a traditional brick and mortar clinic. The cost is the same as going to a regular clinic. You are not required to be homebound. There are many benefits to outpatient therapy in the home.

  1. Convenience -  We come to you. Whether you are doing mobile outpatient and teletherapy services, it is done at your home, or wherever you are.

  2. Reduced costs - Teletherapy eliminates the need for gas, travel time, or child/elder care.

  3. Increased access - Teletherapy allows patients in remote areas or those who do not have reliable transportation, access to quality therapy services, they would otherwise not have access to.

  4. Consistency - Patients are less likely to cancel therapy services increasing follow-through and speeding up recovery time.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FOR THE FIRST SESSION?

The first visit is typically an evaluation. Your therapist will do an assessment of your specific needs and help to create a collaborative intervention plan. The assessment is highly personalized depending on your diagnoses and other health conditions.

DO I NEED TO HAVE A PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN?

In Utah, direct access rules do not require a prescription or order from your physician to access physical therapy services. You are required to have a physician order for occupational and speech therapy. We do place a high value on interdisciplinary communication within a healthcare team and will incorporate your physician or primary care provider as appropriate. All Medicare beneficiaries require a signed plan of care from your physician. We will take care of all of this!

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

We currently accept Medicare Part B, BCBS, and TRICARE. We also accept PPO Insurance plans.

DO YOU OFFER TELETHERAPY?

Yes! Teletherapy is therapy provided online using a live video connection in real time. We use a HIPAA compliant video conferencing platform so all visits are secured. Teletherapy provides similar therapy you would receive in person, with a different mode of delivery. All you need is a smart phone, tablet, or computer with reliable internet and video capabilities. If you have any exercise equipment, your therapist might recommend having that close-by.

IS YOUR AGING IN PLACE HOME ASSESSMENT COVERED BY INSURANCE?

That's a tricky question. The answer is "it depends." Before we complete our assessment we will do a quick screening call to determine the reason for your home assessment and see if it would qualify for insurance reimbursement.

If the home assessment is not covered by insurance, the out-of-pocket cost would be $225 for the initial assessment, and $75 for any follow-up visits. The typical assessment takes between 60 and 90 minutes.

HOW DO I PAY FOR OUT-OF-POCKET SERVICES?

We accept all major credit cards, cash, check, and HSA or FSA.
